The Team

I’m Steve Rohmann and I will be riding my bike to complete the Tour de Blue Ridge and raise money for cancer research. I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. I’ve been wanting to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive for many years. I hope you are able to support my ride by donating to the charities shown on this site or one of your choosing. Thanks for your interest and any donation you can make.

Many people deserve a lot of credit for making the Tour de Blue Ridge a reality.

Marcy Marx, my wife, has been supporting my biking obsession for many years. She tolerates all my cycling clothes scattered around in various states of usage. She always tells me to “have fun” when I head out the door for another ride and asks “how was it?” when I get back. She didn’t object when I started riding again after I crashed and broke my neck in August 2011. I very much appreciate her understanding and support.

Rosemarie and Dave McKeeby are directly responsible for the Tour de Blue Ridge becoming a reality. They’ve graciously offered to be my on-the-road support team during the entire ride. They’ve gotten hooked on biking and Rosemarie also is an accomplished triathlete. I’m very appreciative of their willingness to be the director sportif, soigneur (sans massage), domestique, and drive the SAG wagon (the van) during my Tour de Blue Ridge.

Maria and Arthur Paterson are graciously exchanging their roomy van for my much less roomy car during the Tour de Blue Ridge. The van has room for three people, the bike, other equipment, and luggage inside the vehicle. I hope the van does not develop any ride-related odor and share the same fate as Jerry Seinfeld’s car.
